Dear Neil,

Thanks to the dedication of Farm Sanctuary supporters, we’ve made great

progress on our maintenance projects at the New York Shelter. But we still have

a lot of work to do - and a July 1 deadline to secure the remaining funding.

The good news is that not one, but five additional supporters from the Farm

Sanctuary community have stepped up to help. They have pooled their gifts into a

matching fund and are asking you to make a gift today. For every gift you make

up to $30,000, they will match it - generating $60,000 for Farm Sanctuary!

Seeing the urgent needs of the animals on the farm, they know how critical it is

that we act quickly and are offering this match today to meet our goal and help

the animals immediately.

Please make a donation to the 2009 Critical Farm Maintenance Fund today and it

will be matched, dollar for dollar, doubling your support of Farm Sanctuary.

Farm Sanctuary supporters have already been extremely generous, helping us raise

$50,000 so far - enough to help us complete the construction of the new turkey

barn roof and get started on other critical projects. These additional repairs

and upgrades are absolutely necessary for us to keep all of the animals we’ve

rescued safe and continue to be ready to rescue and take in more animals in

need.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to double your gift and help Farm Sanctuary

complete projects for the animals who call the shelter home. Please ACT NOW to

take advantage of this match offer.

Here is an update on these critical projects:

New turkey barn roof:

New fencing to keep animals safe:

We urgently need new fencing to protect the smaller animals from predators -

like the ducks and geese whose nearest neighbor is a fox right across the road!

Cost: $60,000.

Electric system upgrade:

The shelter’s outdated and overburdened electrical system simply cannot meet

the needs of our growing and aging animal population. These animals need an

upgraded system for the proper heating and cooling mechanisms to keep them

comfortable, safe and healthy. Cost: $90,000.

New animal rescue and transport vehicle:

Our emergency rescue van for small animals cannot be repaired. Without a new

van, we are limited in our ability to rescue animals from cruelty sites, provide

emergency care and deliver them to safety. Cost: $40,000.

Everything we do at Farm Sanctuary helps to safeguard the health, safety and

comfort of the animals. In order to have enough time to complete these projects

and properly care for the animals before cold weather is upon us, we need to act

quickly to raise funding by July 1.

These five generous supporters are reaching out and asking you to join them to

meet Farm Sanctuary’s funding goal. Together, we can complete these critical

projects for the animals - please donate today.

Yours for farm animals,

Gene Baur
