It is very rare to see vegan B & B in Paris. The Gentle Gourmet B & B the vegan place in Paris for a green and gourmet travel experience June 26th , 2009 Paris, France Greetings from Paris! My name is Deborah Brown-Pivain and I am an American vegan chef and gardener who has lived for over 30 years in Paris, and in Normandy France where I formerly owned and ran a well-known guest house and open-to-the public organic kitchen garden. With my two recently college-graduated vegan children we have just opened Paris' first vegan b & b. We are very happy also to propose to any visitor to Paris, whether a guest at our b & b or not, the possibility of enjoying a culturally enrichening vegan dining experience amongst other like-minded visitors... This enterprise is a part of a larger project which includes the opening in Paris of Europe's first vegan culinary institute, The Gentle Gourmet Culinary Institute in January of 2010 and a larger b & b in June 2010. Our hope is to create a dynamism and enthusiasm around gourmet vegan cuisine, to promote the work of the many vegan chefs, cookbook and other authors and vegan activists, and to teach and train both private individuals and future chefs in this marvelous, life-sustaining way of preparing food. We also conduct tours of the famous Kitchen gardens, most attached to the great chateux of France, in Normandy, the Paris region and in the Loire Valley. By so doing we wish to celebrate the extraordinary and diverse palette of edible plant foods that are available for the vegan diet. We also are very happy to show how gardeners have through the ages transformed the simple growing of food into a high form of art .
