Guest guest
The next Vegans for Action meetup will be on Saturday, July 18th at 6 PM in downtown Oakland. There is no cost to attend and we are transit-accessible. Please come out and welcome our special guest speaker, Jenna Calabrese, who has been involved in grassroots non-human and human animal activism in the northeast for many years. She was the Northeast Outreach Coordinator for Vegan Outreach for two years. She is a cofounder of Living Opposed to Violence and Exploitation (L.O.V.E.) and blogs regularly at http://loveallbeings.org/vegan-blog Jenna will be speaking about her current experiences in human animal advocacy and how her anti-oppression work in the human realm relates to her efforts in non-human animal advocacy. It promises to be an engaging evening with a dedicated and articulate grassroots activist. Please come share a vegan potluck dinner with us at 6 PM, followed by Jenna's talk at 7 PM. Or, come just for the talk! You may find full details for the evening at http://www.meetup.com/vegans/calendar/10792466/ We strongly believe veganism should be accessible to all. African Americans, Latinas/Latinos, Native Americans, Asians, Asian Americans -- all those who make up our vibrant community are invited and welcome to all events. If you have any accessibility requests, please send us a note. Warmly, Miranda and Victor
