Start Planning for World Farm Animals Day

Each year, 55 billion land animals are killed worldwide for their flesh,

milk, and eggs. On or around October 2nd, activists in all 50 U.S. states and

two dozen other countries will observe World Farm Animals Day (WFAD) to expose

this needless suffering and killing.

Join the global outcry this October, as we memorialize the innocent

individuals who accounts for 98% of all animal abuse by humans. Observances

include vigils, protests, cage-ins, die-ins, funeral marches, video screenings,

fasts, memorial services, leafleting, information tables, and

more.

Don't miss this chance to be part of an international day of action. Start

planning now! Register to receive a free WFAD Action Guide with details on

planning an event.

Find out how to get started at www.WFAD.org.

Letters from FARM - Still Going Strong

For the past 13 years, FARM’s letter-writing campaign has been bringing

the vegan message to middle America through relevant timely topics. Last year,

we published more than a thousand letters on 16 different topics. This

year, Letters from FARM have been printed in approximately 300

newspapers thus far, addressing such issues as Lent, Meatout, meat and dying,

Earth Day, California Proposition 2, chronic diseases, swine flu, and the food

poisoning threat on the 4th of July.

Letters to the editor are the most widely read section of the newspaper

after the front page. They are an exceptionally effective vehicle for bringing

the message of compassion to millions of Americans that our movement doesn't

often reach.

FARM Fights Activist Repression in Austria

On Wednesday, June 10th, FARM staff and volunteers protested outside of the

Austrian Embassy in response to the severe mistreatment and unjust charges

currently filed against animal advocates by the Austrian government. View the

protest report for background info. The demonstration was one of many protests

organized around the world in honor of the International Day of Protest Against

Government Repression in Austria.

Check out the report with photos & video.
