Guest guest
Do You Have a Fruit Tree or Know Someone Who Does? SF Glean Wants You! For San Francisco to be more sustainable, we need to grow more of our own food. To plant more fruit trees, we need to show the city we can manage the harvest. SF Glean is an entirely volunteer-based project that harvests fruit and nut trees and donates the harvest to various food banks, pantries, and food programs in our San Francisco communities. Here's how it works: We find a tree, either on our own or we are contacted by the tree's owner. We watch that tree, and when the time is right, we harvest the fruit or nuts. We work with other nonprofits and get the food to places that feed hungry people. Getting Involved: If you would like to get involved and help us out, there's plenty of room for everyone. We need people to find trees, pick trees, and work with the communities. The first thing to do is join our Google Group. This is how we stay in touch and organize the work. If you have a tree you would like us to harvest for you, http://www.sfglean.org/public-contact-details.html
