Guest guest
Raw Shabbat at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco Friday, October 9, 2009, 6:30 pm There is a revolution underway in how Jews view food. Learn about the new Jewish food movement over a Friday night meal of vegetarian,(mostly) raw foods. This meal will also celebrate the last night of Sukkot. Over dessert, we'll hear about the political, spiritual, and personal motivations of four local Jewish food activists: Jonathan Silverman of the Peah Garden by Congregation Emanu-El, Emily Jane Freed with Jacob's Farm, Renna Khuner-Haber of Hazon, and Ilana Gauss of EcoJews of the Bay. Never tried raw food? This is your chance to partake of delicious, professional preparing raw dishes. Back to Earth Organic Catering specializes in healthy organic food from local sources. Pioneers in the field, they bring the highest quality organic catering to the JCCSF for this special night. Presented in partnership with EcoJews of the Bay and Hazon.
