Guest guest
Forwarding the message.n Tell Senator Boxer to Help Stop The Aerial Killing Of Wolves With the introduction of the PAW Act in the Senate, now is the time to put an end to the brutal killing of wolves once and for all. Hi neil, California Senator Dianne Feinstein -- joined by Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland -- recently introduced the Protect America's Wildlife (PAW) Act, federal legislation to stop the awful aerial wolf-killing programs championed by now-former governor Sarah Palin. The introduction of the PAW Act is a landmark opportunity to put an end to Alaska's aerial killing and prevent similar practices from spreading to other states. But our partners at Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund need our help to win passage of this important bill. Urge Senator Boxer to support the PAW Act and help put an end to the aerial gunning of wolves » In 1971, Congress passed the Airborne Hunting Act, banning the use of airplanes to hunt wolves. But the State of Alaska has exploited a loophole that allows private citizens to kill of hundreds of wolves annually under what's called "wildlife management." In reality, aerial gunning is used to artificially inflate game numbers – a practice condemned by wildlife biologists. The brutal tactics of chasing wolves to exhaustion with low-flying aircraft or gunning them down from above has sparked outrage from conservationists, ethical hunters and concerned animal lovers worldwide. Unfortunately, Alaskan officials continue these awful programs. Since 2003, the state’s aerial killing programs have claimed the lives of more than 1,000 wolves. During the 2008/2009 aerial gunning season, more than 250 wolves were killed – making it one the deadliest season in years! Help end the inhumane aerial killing of wolves and bears and tell Senator Boxer to support the PAW Act today. » Thanks for taking action!
