With all the buzz around the economy and health care, you might not have heard about the climate change day of action coming up this Saturday, October 24.

A bunch of pretty smart people - scientists and the like - have said that the maximum amount of planet-warming carbon pollution the earth can handle is 350 parts per million.1 The problem? We're already at 387 ppm and rising2, which is why the ice-caps are melting3, the polar bears are drowning4 and California, Australia and other places are literally on fire.5

So renowned author and environmentalist Bill McKibben started a campaign to drill the number 350 into everyone's brain and convince world leaders to cut pollution to sustainable levels.

To help get the word out, McKibben's team, 350.org, has helped plan more than 1,500 events in more than 300 countries for this Saturday. There will be rallies, marches and under-water cabinet meetings - all to draw attention to the number 350 and the need for real action to stop global warming. And as photos of all the different actions and events from around the world pour in, 350.org will broadcast them live on a giant screen in Times Square.

You can join the fun too by submitting a photo, which we'll combine into a giant mural of smiling TrueMajority members' faces and submit as part of the event.

Email your photo to: 350photos

Here's a few quick tips on sending us your picture:

If you can, crop the photo down to just your head and shoulders. We'll be combining your face with hundreds of others, so the less background there is, the better;

Put your name in the subject of your email if you want it to be included;

Just attach your photo, and hit send on the email; We'll do the rest! We'll also send you a copy of the final mural when i t's done!

Scientists and scholars all agree what needs to be done. But we need to show our leaders that the people are ready for action. And what better way to show them than to include your picture with tons of others from every corner of the planet this Saturday?

Send your photo now and show that you stand with scientists and activists from across the globe who say 350 is enough.

Hi again,

Don't email them with comments [per my prior email]. I stopped by the berkeley office of 350 to speak to the 350 "organizers". They are just an umbrella place where any event organizer can list their event. So, if anyone wants to organize a related event for Saturday they can post it.

Does anyone know of a very-related plant-based diet video stressing the carbon footprint, If so, see of they'd be willing to post it!

Mitch
