Guest guest
November is World Vegan Month. This Wednesday the 3rd at 6 p.m., celebrate World Vegan Day with a flair--a gourmet, all you can eat vegan dinner which is TOTALLY vegan and health-supporting. The banquet is prepared without any dairy or eggs, cooked without oil and with no added sugars. It is crafted with skill by Patricia Allen Koot, N.E., certified Nutrition Educator. Patricia's culinary talents have been recognized and acclaimed by chefs as being able to create dishes which are not only health-supporting, but also taste delicious as well. After dinner, stay for a debate! Dr. Michael Edelstein, Ph.D., renowned clinical psychologist and author of the nationally-acclaimed book 'Three Minute Therapy,' will be debating Tom Wooton, author of The Bipolar Advantage(2005), The Depression Advantage(2007)and the upcoming Bipolar In Order(2010) and founder of Bipolar Advantage. The debate topic is entitled, " Pro and con: Certain emotional states, such as depression, bipolar, and schizophrenia, traditionally viewed as problems lacking a cure, can be properly viewed-- and experienced--as assets, instead. " Tom founded Bipolar Advantage with the mission to help people with mental conditions shift their thinking and behavior so that they can lead extraordinary lives. He challenges many of the pervasive attitudes about mental conditions and charts a different course that looks at the positive as well as negative aspects of mental conditions. He has worked tirelessly to change the paradigm of how we look at and treat mental conditions. Tom's mental health clients include Kaiser Permanente, Orange County Behavioral Health, Riverside County Behavioral Health, San Bernardino County Behavioral Health, Mental Health Associations throughout California, and NAMI organizations nationwide. Don't miss this cutting-edge debate which can significantly impact our understanding of mental health. Ten dollar minimum donation covers the vegan dinner AND the debate. This is an incredible price for an all you can eat gourmet vegan dinner AND the debate. This weekly multi-faceted dining experience, vegan dinner, social networking and cutting-edge wellness topics has become a coveted feature of San Francisco's cultural landscape. It all happens this Wednesday, November 3 at 6 p.m. Location is the Red Victorian, 1665 Haight St., San Francisco. RSVP to: 707-774-1904 or email to: info.
