Scientists at NASA want to blast up to 28 squirrel monkeys with a massive dose

of gamma rays in order to " simulate " the space radiation that they would be

exposed to if they were humans on a three-year mission to Mars. The monkeys will

then spend the rest of their lives forced to perform a host of " behavioral

tasks " to assess how the radiation affected their brains.

Please join PETA in urging NASA to terminate its plans to conduct radiation

experiments using monkeys.

What: Protest against NASA's experiments on monkeys

When: Friday, January 29, 12 noon **see note below.

Where: NASA Ames Research Center's main gate, 801 Moffett Blvd., between the

entrance to NASA and northbound Route 101, Mountain View

**Because of limited parking, please meet at Safeway, located at 570 N.

Shoreline Blvd. at 11:45 a.m. We will shuttle people to and from the demo

site.**

If you want more information about the demonstration or would like to

RSVP—please contact Amanda Fortino at 757-284-4895 or AmandaF. All

materials will be provided.

Be sure to visit StopAnimalTests.com for the latest on PETA's fight against

animal testing, and contact NASA Administrator Charles F. Bolden Jr. to politely

ask him to permanently halt plans to conduct radiation experiments using monkeys

using the form here:

https://secure.peta.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display & page=UserAction & id=2657.

Thank you for everything that you do to help animals!
