Golden Gate Gardening is the definitive primer on vegetable gardening in

Northern California. Full of information and camaraderie, this book explains how

to grow common vegetables and herbs and add unusual ones that bring variety to

the garden. There are sections on edible flowers, cutting flowers, fruits, and

managing local pests and weeds. The talk will focus on water conservation and

other sustainable practices in bay area food gardens. Location: Flora Grubb
