(PRWEB) February 26, 2010 -- Green Earth Travel, purveyor of " trips that make a

Grand Canyon June 4-9 or August 9-14, or indulge at a desert spa in Zion

" We are proud to once again offer these unusual trips for animal lovers around

the country, " comments Donna Zeigfinger, Green Earth Travel

(http://www.vegtravel.com) President. " Guests will have ample high quality time

at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, tending to animals and learning about Best

Friends (http://www.bestfriends.org)' terrific tradition of service. Following

the sessions dedicated to animals, they will be able to immerse themselves in

the dramatic beauty of thedesert southwest. " Grand Canyon trip guests will

venture to the North Rim to camp after enjoying the spectacular view, hiking and

evening around a toasty campfire. October travelers will head to Zion National

Park to stay at Flanigan's Inn (http://www.flanigans.com), a desert getaway

where they can hike the dramatic canyon landscape, participate in a yoga

refresher, or find a uniquely silent space to meditation.

" It was the best trip I've ever taken, " notes Kathy Poynton, a recent Green

Earth Travel guest from Virginia who visited with her mom. " I'm a long time

supporter of Best Friends and have been interested in visiting for a long time.

The cleanliness and well-organized operation made it clear to me that every

penny I've donated goes to good use. In addition, Donna has the trip plan wired:

I really appreciated the trip's flawless planning and organization. "

Kathy continues, " Vacations are usually 'about me.' On this trip, I worked my

butt off and felt really rewarded to have spent the time giving, instead of

getting. While caring for the animals the trip became " about you (cats, dogs,

horses and pigs)! "

Jonathan Balcombe, Ph.D. whose best-selling book " Pleasurable Kingdom: Animals

and the Nature of Feeling Good (http://www.pleasurablekingdom.com) " will

accompany October trip goers. " I am looking forward to sharing time with

like-minded people with shared interests, " notes Dr. Balcombe, whose

professional assignments include his positions as Associate Director of

Education for The Humane Society of the US and Senior Research Scientist at the

Physicians Committee on Responsible Medicine. He will be available to give

interpretive talks on such topics as animal behavior and animal awareness.

Guests will travel from and back to Las Vegas on the Adventure Bus,

(http://www.adventurebus.com) hosted by a professional team that has been

introducing guests to the scenic wonders of the west for nearly a decade. Owner

Stephanie Emery, whose knowledgeable staff will provide a unique and memorable

camping experience for the June and October trips notes that she has been

" inspired by Green Earth Travel/Best Friends trip participants' commitment to

helping animals and supporting animal rights. " Meals will be vegetarian with

options for vegans.

Please note any person that books this $25 will be given to their favorite

organization as well a donation to Best Friends.
