Guest guest
Fellow animal people, Can you help feed feral cats one or two days a week in Daly City? The person who has been feeding 7 days a week recently got married and moved, and it has become time-consuming and very tiring for her to continue to feed every day after work and on weekends. She is happy to continue to feed four days a week, so if someone is willing to feed one or two weekdays and one day on the weekend, this would be a great help to her -- and the cats! The cat colony is near the Clarinada exit off Highway 1, near St. Francis Boulevard, not far from Serramonte. We have been doing TNR (trap-neuter-return) in this colony for about four or five years, and have trapped/fixed about 30 cats. Among those were some kittens and some tame cats, and we were able to find good homes for all of them. So at this point it is a fairly small colony -- and very stable. No kittens have been born in the last few years! AND some of the cats are actually quite friendly. I have been providing, and would be happy to continue to provide, all the dry food, and if there are any new cats to be trapped/fixed, I would be responsible for that too. I would even be willing to pay for gas, if necessary. So there would be no expenses, just your time (and not that much time, because providing dry food and water can be done fairly quickly) -- and we and the cats would be very appreciative of your help!! Ideally, of course, it would be great if someone living fairly close by could feed the colony, or perhaps someone who drives by that area on their commute. It would be great if three people were willing to feed the cats one day each. If you are interested or need more information, or if you know someone in the area who might be interested in helping out, please email me or feel free to call me at home, 415/221-3618, or work, 415/743-2433. If there is no answer, please leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can. Please forward this to anyone else who might be interested in helping out. Thank you, everyone!!
