Your ignorance of the value of meat-free Mondays borders on Palinesque. April 9, 2010. You obviously do not understand the role of a plant-based diet in reducing healthcare costs. Several years back your competing San Francisco daily newspaper carried a story about a homeless man whose Type 2 diabetes had cost the City over $500,000 in medical costs! Type 2 diabetes can be reversed with a low-fat vegetarian diet. The City's $483 million budget deficit could be dramatically reduced if we heed meat-free days every day.
