End Child Labor in U.S. Agriculture

Human Rights Watch is out with a disturbing report about hundreds of

thousands of children picking fruits and vegetables on U.S. farms.

According to the report, they work 10 or more hours a day with sharp

tools, heavy machinery, and dangerous pesticides, and die at four

times the rate of other working youths.

It's also important to note that farm workers in the Central Valley

can barely afford to feed their kids and don't have access to the very

fruits and vegetables they break their backs to pick. Unemployment in

the Central Valley is over 20 percent.
