Guest guest
Vegetarian Network of Dallas not only socially supports our members, we are also dedicated to vegetarian outreach. VegNod encourages members to choose the path of the activist, as it is among the most honorable of life journeys. Activism doesn't necessarily take much effort. One of the best ways to convert others to the vegetarian lifestyle is to influence by example. Simply live in a consistently ethical way and others will notice and emulate. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have a delicious plant-based diet in one's armamentarium of convincing tactics, either. To make activism easy and fun, VegNod launched the first phase of our newest outreach program, "Take a Carnivore to Lunch." Any VegNod member, who brings a non-vegetarian friend to our Sunday lunch will get two free raffle tickets and her/his friend/family getst one ticket. Yesterday, the winner of our first raffle was Devon Dillard. He selected his prize from among several, valuable vegan gifts. Devon's wife is Barbara, designer of the VegNod logo, so Devon is lucky on two counts! Our next free raffle will be on Sunday, May 20th lunch at Veggie Garden. But, before May 20th, why don't you ask a carnivore of your acquaintance to a delicious and healthy lunch at a vegetarian restaurant? That's all it takes to be an activist. For restaurant suggestions, contact me at margaret.morin or Julia McCloud at juliamccloud. VegNod will soon publish a list of Metroplex vegetarian restaurants on www.vegnod.com. See you for lunch on May 20th.
