Guest guest
Cross-Posted from Michelle Tsai:Perhaps there are other banks like this in other states... Please do share if you know of any other. Today, I got the below reply from the wonderful founder of New Resource Bank, Peter Liu. I'm sure if people in the AR community all over the country wish to switch banks, they could, by wiring. Please feel free to pass on the info if you think it's a good idea. The bank's website is http://www.newresou rcebank.com/ You can go to any ATM to get cash and have the charge refunded 10 times per month, or unlimited times depending on how much you have combined in your account(s). The website also states that the bank is a member of the FDIC. Below is the reply I got today from Mr. Peter Liu: ------------ --------- --------- --------- ----- Thank you for asking. I am the founder of New Resource Bank. 1. We don't have any investment in industries that use animals for testing. 2. We do not invest in the petroleum industry. We have made loans to solar power companies and companies that market renewable energy. Our investment are in the form of loans. We do offer specialized programs for green projects and green businesses and our clients include some of the leaders in the organic, green building and clean energy sectors. As a condition of our banking charter, we do have to serve our community at large and not just green businesses. However, our community clients are all small to medium size local businesses that do not engage in environmentally damaging practices. We some times help them find ways to green their business and take the "green" to the community. I hope this answers your questions. Feel free to email again if you want to know more.
