Shortly after the official search ended at 6 p.m., the bull was spotted near a deer feeder behind a home not far from the animal hospital. Apex police said the animal bolted into the dense woods behind east Williams street around 3 p.m. while veterinarians were trying to vaccinate it. Although police caught a glimpse of the animal, they didn't have the manpower to chase it down to they called off the search after losing sight. Safety was a concern for police so they had planned to patrol the roadways in case the bull was not caught.
