I have just visited GoPetition to stop Premarin's cruel practice of making Premarin. It is concentrated pregnant mare urine (PMU). The horses are kept in a tiny crate, like veal, standing on concrete, never to turn around or be outside. A bag is attached to collect the urine. They are deprived of adequate water, so their urine is concentrated and thus produces more estrogen. There are MANY other just as effective forms of estrogen, and they are generic. Wyeth-Ayerst Phamaceuticals bought the government, giving them permission to continue to sell at the premium price even though the patent ran out years ago.
