Thanksgiving is a time to celebrate life... not destroy it.

Please join our efforts to bring a Gentle Thanksgiving to your community.

**********************************************************

Why We Need You:

Each year, 45 million turkeys are killed for Thanksgiving alone.

~~~~~~~~
No laws protect turkeys from cruelty in slaughterhouses and factory farms.
All birds are excluded from coverage under the federal Humane Slaughter Act.
~~~~~~~~

Turkey farms produce 10 billion pounds of manure, much of which ends up in our

rivers and drinking water.

**********************************************************

Here are ways you can get involved:

- Host a Gentle Thanksgiving and invite family, friends and acquaintances to

join you. This is a friendly way to introduce the great taste and many benefits

of a cruelty-free diet.

- Coordinate a public dinner. A great form of outreach, public dinners can be

held at local churches, community centers, veg-friendly restaurants, or any

other location you see fit. Consider making it a potluck, hiring a caterer, or

asking volunteers to donate food for the occasion.

- Request free postcards for distribution. Our colorful cards offer free recipes

and a Veg Starter Kit. Leave them at stores all month.

- Call your favorite local radio talk show to educate others about Gentle

Thanksgiving, turkey-alternatives, and the numerous advantages of a healthy,

plant-based diet.

- Place a Gentle Thanksgiving web banner on your website.

FOR DETAILS, VISIT WWW.GENTLETHANKSGIVING.ORG.

Be sure to register your plans with us. Registering allows us to list your event

and city in the Gentle Thanksgiving Events Directory. Your event will help

generate media and inspire others. Together, we will demonstrate the true

meaning of Thanksgiving and the popularity of meat-free living.

Thank you for saving animals!

This is a great idea! I think the simple idea of a gentle

Thanksgiving is appealing. My husband and I adopt a turkey from Farm

Sanctuary every year.
