I just got a call from Sheriff Burnett about the Nellie case. Actually, the teens were never charged with animal cruelty (that was LAST year, try it now), but did plead to 17 counts of drive by shootings (yet again proof that cruelty to animals extends to people, duh) - good news! He got SIX YEARS in the slammer! Sheriff Burnett is a wonderful person and an animal lover. He works hard to adopt and protect animals from peacocks to buffalo at his place, and really does care. I just thought after we all get SOOOOO much bad news all day, every day, a little light would be nice.
