You might want to tell a meat eater that thinks they are getting organic meat from WF is getting mostly steroids and ABX. Or maybe not, he he......... WHOLE FOODS MARKET SELLING FACTORY FARMED MEATThe FDA recently sent a warning letter to one of the largest feedlots in the U.S.. According to the FDA, the company, Beef Northwest, has been administering drugs to its livestock above legal limits. The company has also been receiving complaints from employees of three of its feedlots for exploiting its workers and blocking their right to form a union. The meat is sold under the brand "Country Natural Beef". A full 60 percent of this meat is sold by Whole Foods Market. Please join workers in calling for Whole Foods to take action. Demand a public accounting of what steps they have taken to ensure that the Country

Natural Beef sold in their stores does not contain unsafe levels of drugs. Demand that Whole Foods respects the rights of workers to form a union. After I posted this on the Vegan Forum in craigslist (http://fayar.craigslist.org/forums/?forumID=2400;old=yes), I got this reply (among others):This has happened for a while < Veganjohn > 11/15 23:20:19 On a slightly different side of this, I had a friend who used to work in the meat dept of Wholefoods. He mentioned that when their 'special' meat order was late, his manager would go to Stop n Shop, buy meat there, and come back and sell it as organic meat, only touched by butterflies and all that. I take everything at that store with a number of grains of salt.http://www.chooseveg.com/meet-your-meat.asp"There is no religion without love, and people may talk as much as they like about their religion, but if it does not teach them to be good and kind to other animals as well as humans, it is all a sham." -- Anna Sewell
