Urge Qua Bottle Lounge to Stop Abusing Sharks!

This is a horrible case of ongoing animal abuse right in Austin. Please politely email, call and if you live in Austin visit and protest this atrocity. Dear Margaret, Qua Bottle Lounge, a new nightclub in Austin, Texas, imprisons sharks, rays, and other aquatic animals in a tank built into the nightclub's floor. Although the club just opened its doors recently, at least five sharks have reportedly died already. Sharks and rays have extraordinary sensory perception, and there is no doubt that the animals at Qua detect the pounding vibrations of the club's music. Despite the tank's purported "soundproof" acrylic cover, the vibrations, lights, and sounds create a confusing and stressful atmosphere for the animals trapped inside, agitating and tormenting them. The animals are being denied all the rich sensory experiences of their natural environment, such as exposure to sunlight, the ability to swim in a straight line, and the opportunity to hunt and forage for food. Unless the sharks and rays are moved to a better environment, they will continue to die. Urge Qua Bottle Lounge to immediately move the sharks and rays to an environment where they can better express their natural behaviors before more of them die.
