Sheep Leaves behind Thorny Past, Enjoys Simpler Life at New York ShelterHidden within a labyrinth of brush, Thistle passed nearly seven years out of sight and out of mind on a farm in New York. Here, she foraged for meals daily and watched helplessly as animals died around her. Leaving her all alone, Thistle’s only companion was hauled away—a horse who was tied to the back of a truck and led to a home miles down the road.
