Police knocked on Ronnie Villaire's door in the 900 block of Cortez in southeast Arlington about 9:30 a.m. Saturday with news that the remains of his 3 1/2-year-old Pomeranian were found nearby. It appeared that the dog, named Spike, was doused in gasoline and set on fire, Villaire said. "We haven't told the children exactly what happened," Villaire said. "This is very, very sick. Very disturbing. I just can't imagine how someone would do this. He was just a little furball." Ronnie Villaire said that his wife and two children, ages 10 and 5, are devestated. The family is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction for the crime. Villaire asked that anyone with information contact him at 817-473-6377.
