FARM Demands Total Recall By USDA In response to the USDA's recent recall of 143 million pounds of beef because it came from sick, abused animals, FARM staff and supporters rallied in front of the the USDA Administration building with a powerful demand: Recall ALL animal products, as they all come fromsick, abused animals! We also designed special handouts showing a downed cow lying in the mud. The back of

the card explains that abuse of downed animals is standard operating procedure in U.S. slaughter-houses, and calls on USDA to recall all meat products. Click here to view demo pics/video and request recall handouts. AR2008 Holds Open Call for Speakers & Topics We are holding an open call for both prospective speakers and topics for the Animal Rights 2008 National Conference. For prospective speakers, we need preferred topics, relevant qualifications, and prior speaking experience. Suggested topics may include lectures, discussions, or video presentations. The Conference will be held on August 14-18 at the Hilton Mark Center Hotel in Alexandria, VA, a suburb of the nation's capital and past venue of our 2006 event. The Hotel offers $97 rooms, magnificent meeting and exhibit space, vegan cuisine, cruelty free bedding, and a free shuttle

to the Metro and Washington National Airport. Please send your speaker/topic suggestions and get discounted registration rate before March 31st. Equal Justice Alliance Promotes AETA Debate The Equal Justice Alliance (EJA) persuaded the National Center for Animal Law of Lewis & Clark Law School to include the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA) in its national Moot Court Competition. The competition was held on February 16-17th at Harvard Law School by sixteen teams from 14 law schools. Subsequently, several law students have offered to intern with EJA this year. The Equal Justice Alliance was spearheaded by FARM to defeat the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act, which represses animal activism. Please visit the EJA website and contact us to offer your assistance. Help Get Fruits & Veggies into Schools Center for Science in the Public Interest needs support in implementing a national expansion of the fruit and vegetable snack program for schools. Click here to find out how you can help. Some of FARM's Favorite Links FARM Heroes Here we feature key supporters of FARM and animal rights movement. Tammy Grimes is founder & executive director of Dogs Deserve Better, a national nonprofit group dedicated to ending the chaining and penning of dogs.
