Guest guest
This morning's NPR discussion focused on Ethanol and the feeding of corn to cattle - interviewed these 'delightful' farmers who raise cattle and pigs - if you can please take five minutes to write about meat's devastating impact on the ecostystem. Cows which have doubled in population in the last 40 years to an estimated 1.3 billion worldwide, produce one pound of methane for every two pounds of meat that they yield. Methane is 25 times more potent than carbon dioxide in contributing to global warming; global animal agriculture industry uses up about one-third of the Earth's entire land surface; cows, pigs, chickens and other farmed animals produce about 130 times more excrement than the entire population; antibiotics; produce more greenhouse gasses than all the automobiles etc. Please - read discussion here : http://www.npr.org/ Thanks, MelanieIt's Tax Time!
