Events Calendar. Monday, March 10, 2008 Our Topics today include: Meatout - the world's largest grassroots diet education campaign since 1985. The USDA's largest beef recall ever and

why there should be a "Total Recall". Exposing rodeo cruelty and the connections between rodeo & livestock shows and slaughterhouses. Today on Go Vegan Texas! Featuring our guests Dawn Moncrief Executive Director of FARM Dawn Moncrief is the Executive Director for FARM (Farm Animal Rights Movement). Headquartered in the nation's capital, FARM is a nonprofit, public-interest organization which advocates plant-based (vegan) diets to save animals, protect the environment, and improve health. Meatout is the world's largest grassroots diet education campaign and was created by FARM in 1985. Every year around the first day of Spring, activists from around the globe encourage others to "kick the meat habit" and enjoy the benefits of a plant-based diet. Meatout outreach events are scheduled in Houston and throughout the world. In response to the recent beef recall, the theme for this year's Meatout is "Total Recall". Click HERE to see the HSUS undercover video investigation of the Hallmark slaughterhouse in California,

which documents "downed" animals (animals too sick to move) being abused by slaughterhouse workers. This video set in motion the largest beef recall in U.S. History. (Warning: video contains images of animal abuse) and Steve Hindi President & founder of SHARK Showing Animals Respect and Kindness

(SHARK) was founded in 1993 by Steve Hindi, a former hunter. Steve has led the organization to several victories for the animals: statewide bans on horse-tripping and live pigeon shoots in Illinois, shutting down various hunting clubs and canned hunts across the country, international exposure of the truth behind rodeos and bullfighting, helping to prosecute domestic animal cruelty cases... This list goes on and on and continues to grow today. Click HERE to view a 10 minute SHARK video on YouTube of animal cruelty that was filmed at rodeos throughout the country. (Warning: video contains images of animal abuse) Demonstrations will be held again this weekend at the Houston Rodeo. Please attend at least one demo and speak up for Animals!
