Guest guest
Action Alert: 2008 Dallas March of Dimes (MOD) Walk for Babies Educational Demonstration Mark your calendars! Join the North Texas animal rights and protection community for our educational demonstration at the MOD Walk for Babies in Dallas on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Your participation is absolutely key to the success of our advocacy effort. If only a small handful of animal advocates show up, we are more easily ignored. Please don't let this happen! This is THE major annual MOD fundraiser and our opportunity to open the eyes and hearts of MOD supporters. Details follow. ********************* WHAT: March of Dimes Walk for Babies educational demonstration. WHEN: Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 8 AM to 11 AM (or any part you can attend). The walk begins at 9 AM, and we should be there early to leaflet and talk with participants. WHY: MOD spends about $30 million annually on cruel, repetitive and irrelevant animal experiments that have not produced benefits to babies and mothers. Meanwhile, the U.S. sinks lower and lower in world rankings for premature births, birth defects, newborn and infant mortality, and maternal mortality – shamefully near the bottom of industrialized nations. We are asking MOD to redirect this wasteful and inhumane funding to human-based research and programs proven to improve the health of babies and mothers. WHERE: Norbuck Park at White Rock Lake. The map address is 2000 N. Buckner Blvd., Dallas, 75218. Here are directions from the intersection of U.S. Highway 75 (N. Central Expressway) and Mockingbird Lane.
