SPCA of Texas Issues Open Call for Pet Films for Pet Flix Film Festival! *WHAT: *Calling all dogs, cats and dog and cat lovers, the SPCA of Texas is issuing an open call for pet films produced by all new or established filmmakers or pet enthusiasts with an eye for cinema. Submit your short film, music video, documentary or special home video moments of your pets to the SPCA of Texas’ 2008 Pet Flix Film Festival <http://www.spca.org/site/R?i=r_bR7mi-wpWPkji7I5j8dQ..> and you could win one of several valuable prizes. The final details of the fabulous grand prize package for the Best Overall Picture will be announced in the coming weeks and will include an exciting vacation package for the winners as well as a pet vacation package from WUF Pet Resort and

The following rules apply: * The competition is open to all new and established filmmakers or pet enthusiasts with an eye for cinema. * All genres are welcome including, but not limited to, documentary, narrative, music video,

experimental, rant, etc. * To qualify, the film’s subject and/or focus must be on an animal or human interaction with animals. * Each entrant may submit up to four films. * Films must be in DVD format. * Films must be no longer than twenty (20) minutes in length. o There will be three prizes awarded: 1) Best Short Tail — 0 to 5 min film 2) Best Long Tail — 6 to 20 min film 3) Best Overall Picture * Films must not have been created earlier than 2005. * Films may be in color or black and white. * Entry deadline for all films is May 23, 2008. * All entries must include a completed entry form, copy of the film, an entry fee. * An entry fee of $10.00 is required for each film entered. * Once submitted, DVDs become the property of the SPCA of Texas and will not be returned. * Filmmaker must guarantee that no animals were harmed during the filmmaking process. * Films with any profanity or nudity will
