Someone sent me the article (and their commentary) below. Here is the letter I just wrote to Hillary Clinton via Congress.org:

Dear Hillary,

Please read this article about your choice for a Kentucky Derby "winner."

Horse racing is a heinously abusive industry. After a lifetime of having to push themselves beyond the boundaries of capability, horses are often "retired" to the slaughterhouse, where (especially if they are sent to Mexican slaughterhouses) they meet an unimaginably brutal and painful death. The horse racing industry is notorious for corruption and cruelty.

Please read about this abomination here:

Please consider withdrawing your support of this horrifically cruel industry.

Thank you in advance for your compassion,

Rina Deych, RN

Someone would have to put an Uzi to my head to get me to watch a thoroughbred horserace at this point. This is not the sport of kings; it is the sport of Nazis. Three year olds don't even have mature bone development; their canons (leg bones) are soft and FRAGILE....these glorious animals are pushed to beyond normal limits, suffer pulmonary bleeds and are regularly medicated for this! This "sport" is evil, exploitation by shut down, greedy humans for money. Thank God I did not see this first hand. It would have taken me days to recover.Log onto PETA site......Google. Learn the reality of this "sport.'
