An irrational and ill-informed attack was published in Friday's DMN LTE. Especially damaging was Mr. Beckham call for letters to elected representatives to outlaw the breed. Please do not let this already much abused dog breed suffer such an attack without a defense from the animal community. These animals are bred for their viciousness. It is ingrained in their DNA. I do not care how many people come to their rescue, or how many people say they are good pets. Explain that to the mother and father of the child in Amarillo last week. Write your congressman, your local government, your senators. How many more children do we sacrifice to the altar of stupidity?
