Star is in Need of Urgent

Assistance Eti Altman, the spokesperson of "Let the Animals

live-Israel, received a call regarding a dog named Star. Star's story touched Eti's heart and so she decided to

help to the best of her ability. Star is an amazing 11 year old Belgian Malinois, a

highly decorated veteran who served in the I.D.F's combat canine unit- Oketz

for 10 years. During his service, Star detected a car bomb, 2 explosive belts,

a bag full of explosives ready to be used in a terror attack, an explosives lab

as well as several other bombs. All of Star's successful findings took place in

the West Bank . Many soldiers are alive today

thanks to Star. Amazingly, Star, because of his courage and unique skills, was

even called to assist the U.S Army in the war in Iraq . Star served with Gil Yechezkel, his operator, for 3

years and was later adopted by him when discharged from the army 2 years ago. Lately, Star is suffering from Cancer in his back leg

and had his leg amputated . Yet again, Star is exhibiting great bravery in the

way in which he is dealing with illness and the loss of his leg. The extensive

Chemotherapy and radiation treatment that Star is in need of in order to try

and save his life is very expensive and can reach over 20 thousand Shekels. The call to "Let the Animals live-Israel"

was made in order to raise the necessary funds for the continuation of the

treatment for this unique dog. Eti Altman approached Yoav Even from Israel 's

Channel 2 News with the story. Attached is the link: http://www.keshet-tv.com/VideoPage.aspx?MediaID=38539 & CatID=330 & CurrentCatID=330 Eti Altman the spokesperson of

"Let the Animals live-Israel": "Star's story deeply touched my

heart, a dog that for years devoted himself and risked his life for humans

should be helped and I am positive that together and with the public's support

we will be able to raise the required funds for Star's medical treatment. We ask the public, whoever can lend a hand and help Star

continue to live, to please call 03-6241776 ext. 5 or log on to our website: http://www.letlive.org.il/english/donate.php
