Guest guest
Forwarded with Permission of Randy Turner, Attorney at Law. Personally, I am really tired of seeing puppies sold at roadsides in my city. Everyone should do as Randy suggests and call our City Council (google your city council and/or politely speak to your mayor about this). Margaret****************** On May 21, 2008, the Fort Worth City Council passed an ordinance prohibiting the roadside sale of animals. A violation of this ordinance is punishable by a fine up to $2,000. Everyone who lives in a city that has not banned the roadside sale of animals should contact their city council person and urge them to enact a similar ordinance. The (FW) ordinance reads as follows: Sec. 6-79. Prohibited sales. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, exchange, trade, barter, lease, rent, give away, or display for a commercial purpose any live animal on any roadside, public right-of-way, parkway, median, park, playground, swimming pool, other recreation area, flea market, or commercial or retail parking lot that is generally accessible by the public, regardless of whether such access is authorized.
