Guest guest
Just a quick note to let you all know that the Dallas City Council voted 10 to 3 today to pass the entire package of proposed animal ordinances. Two council members were absent for the vote: Pauline Medrano and Carolyn Davis. Voting in favor of the ordinances were: Mayor Tom Leppert Mayor Pro Tem Elba Garcia Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway Linda Koop Steve Salazar Mitchell Rasansky Tenell Atkins Vonciel Jones Hill Dave Neumann Jerry Allen Those opposed were: Ron Natinsky Sheffe Kadane Angela Hunt It was a great day for the animals in Dallas and around the country. Even people in California were celebrating our victory today. Let us hope this sets a new tone that animals are valued in our community and things are going to start to change around here. Thank you to everyone who wrote, called, e-mailed or spoke to convince the council to pass these needed ordinances. I am very proud of our animal welfare community tonight!
