ACTION ALERT! Ft Worth Humane plans to euthanize all 37 Johnson Cnty pit bulls!

The Ft Worth Humane Society took in all 37 living pit bulls found in Johnson County in terrible conditions. That's the good news. The bad news is they plan to euthanize every last one, even though most have initially shown friendly personalities. Please contact the FTW Humane Society and express your dismay at their plans to euthanize all of these dogs! Ask them to please take the time to find appropriate sanctuary for these poor dogs and to give them a chance at the life they each deserve.

 

Many of the Michael Vick dogs are now thriving thanks to the successful rehabilitation efforts of the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah, who took in many of the dogs despite calls from both HSUS and PETA that they all be euthanized. In addition, Best Friends just took in another group of pits saved from a dog-fighting ring in Washington. These dogs are known as The Great Eight.

being involved in the rescue of animals means having to make very tough decisions about who lives and dies and what is the best way to spend precious resources ... I respect the decision made by HSNT and hope that others who might have contacted them about the welfare of these dogs was not overly harsh with them ... theirs is a tough job to do ...
