Guest guest
This was on last night...excellent. At our circus protest/demo today, there were not near as many cars as last year. I wonder if a lot of people saw 20/20 last night and decided not to go. I sure hope so!http://www.abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=5435466 & page=1YOU HAVE GOT TO CHECK THIS OUT: Part 1: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GhxKnys7RywPart 2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=7sRiH_Owq9UPart 3: http://youtube.com/watch?v=N8U9dw-9U4E--- On Fri, 7/25/08, In Defense of Animals <takeaction wrote:In Defense of Animals <takeactionWatch "20/20" on ABC Friday July 25 - Great Elephant Feature"kerri milam" <kerrimilamFriday, July 25, 2008, 12:03 PM Watch "20/20" at 10 p.m. ET Friday July 25 - Great Elephant Feature IDA Home | Action Center Home | Donate | Sign Up! | Tell a Friend Watch "20/20" on ABC Friday July 25 (10 PM in most parts of the country) We Expect A Great Elephant Feature! According to an article posted on the ABC News website, viewers will be in for a treat tonight when ABC's 20/20 dedicates a third of the show to an in-depth look at elephants, including studying elephants living in captivity for signs of post-traumatic stress disorder. Our friends at The Elephant Sanctuary will be featured, as will other pioneers advancing our understanding of elephants. Here is an excerpt from the ABC News article about the 20/20 story: "Something revolutionary is happening in the flatlands of Tennessee . Deep roars can be heard through trees that shield neighbors from an unlikely sight, one that is hidden from the main roads. A kind of asylum exists for previously dangerous or deprived elephants in captivity, now living the rest of their lives here in the semi-wild. Driving past the perimeter fences, an awareness that huge animals are nearby and unseen evokes comparisons to Jurassic Park , but with a therapeutic mission. The Elephant Sanctuary, a private nonprofit organization in Hohenwald , Tenn. , spans 2,700 acres of forests and spring-fed ponds. This is a last refuge for elephants broken by humans, and they are here to heal. But doing so requires the elephants' ultimate act of trust in humans. On a recent visit, ABC News correspondent Elizabeth Vargas was chaperoned inside the gates to discover an intimate world." We hope you can find the time tonight to watch or tape what should be an extraordinary feature. Then visit http://www.helpelephants.com to find out what you can do to help elephants.
