Alley Morado [alley] Thursday, July 31, 2008 8:37 AM'Mike & Gayle Mikel'Voting Deadline - August 1 I hope by now you have all voted for Pepper Mann in the Meals On Wheels Association of America's national grant process. If Pepper receives the most votes, then Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County will receive a grant of $2,000 for the companion pet program that provides food for more than 300 client pets. We need your help. Please vote for Pepper and forward this information to everyone you know asking them to also vote for Pepper. Voting is easy. Simply email leigh and indicate that you are voting for Pepper Mann. The deadline for voting is August 1. Thank you for your support! My name is: Pepper Mann My owner and I get meals from: Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County I am a: precious little Chihuahua My Mama and I have been together for: 7 years I've been receiving meals for: 5 years, 7 months and 14 days My favorite Meals On Wheels volunteer is: Harriet Waring My favorite food is: small bites-preferably Hills of Purina My favorite activity is: snuggling with my Mama Lucille; her shoulder and neck are my favorite spots. We talk a lot throughout the day and keep each other company. She loves to show off our pictures hanging on the wall from when we were in the local paper for being on the Meals On Wheels Program. One thing I always get in trouble for is: for being so precious...and modest of course! I am a very good girl and never get into any trouble. I am good because Santa will come to visit me and bring gifts, if I am good. If I found a genie in a magic lamp, my three wishes would be: 1. One time I wished for a sweater and in a few days the volunteer that brings Mama Lucille's meals showed up with a brand new sweater for me that was made from a sock. It is so warm and I just love it. I wear it all the time and you can see it in my picture. 2. I wish that Mama Lucille and I could be together "furever" because she makes me feel so special. We are best friends. 3. I wish that sometimes Mama and I could go back to our younger days when we could go for walks together. My favorite memory with my owner is the time when: Mama Lucille just loves the Gaither Gospel Music singers. They had a reunion show on television several years ago and Mama and I watched every minute of the show. I love their music too and so I sang along with every song. Mama was so proud of me. She didn't know that I could sing and it was really special for her to hear her favorite gospel singers and me performing together. She was so proud and I loved that night so much. Meals On Wheels pet food program has helped me by: When Mama Lucille started on Meals On Wheels, I worried because it was a real problem for her to get food for me. She sometimes shared her meal with me and I felt bad because she needed her meals so she could get better. When the pet food program started and I was able to get meals for me then mama and I both felt better because we both got the meals we needed. Before Meals On Wheels I was worried about me and Mama getting enough food to eat, but now I am so happy and healthy and look forward every day to seeing the volunteers come by to deliver meals for Mama. And When Harriet comes by to deliver meals to me, I know I can make it through the tough times and just concentrate on loving my Mama Lucille and keeping her company. She talks to me and I know that she loves me as much as I love her.
