Their own AZA accreditation was, as the zoo likes to term it "shelved", because of facility issues. One issue in particular was the indoor elephant exhibit, which wasn't cuttingthe AZA mustard. It was an embarrassment to the zoo which was eager to get reaccredited. Hence the indoor facility was expanded by an ever so little few feet to meet the AZA qualifications and get reaccredited. Hence, they are barely passing the AZA standards themselves.....in hindsight, I guess no onementioned this because no one really knew. This should be verifiable by zoo/city records.
