Update on Today's (9/13) 4 PM Zoo Leafletting

As of this point, I am still planning to leaflet at the Zoo at 4 PM. We have an out of town guest who would like to leaflet, so I plan to comply. I hope to see those who are able to make it. With leafletting, there is never a way to predict whether the Zoo-going public will think this is a good day to visit the Zoo or not, but I am going to take a chance and be there. Animal advocates successfully leafletted this morning at AA Center in an intermittent, light drizzle. If it clears or even if the conditions are the same as this morning, CCFJ will proceed with leafletting. If the sky opens up, however, then we won't. Use your judgment. I will do my best to put out an update tomorrow, if at all possible, but use your own judgment. If the skies are clear or if it is not raining, then we will proceed with 4 PM leafletting as planned. Just bring yourself as I will bring the leaflets.

However, our 6 PM leafletting is cancelled as the Zoo postponed their event due to Ike. The Zoo closes at 5 PM, so there will be no one to whom to leaflet. See additional details below.

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET JENNY: Jenny needs you to contact the mayor, city council, city manager, and parks and recrearecreationtor for her now and frequently. She has no one but us to speak for her, so please DO NOT GIVE UP!!!!

Please be sure to wear nice, neat clothes (no torn jeans or message t-shirts) regardless though so the public regards Jenny supporters well. Everyone understands and respects the reason for this. We are all Jenny has so I'm sure everyone is fine with subordinating our own needs for hers.

I tried to put the word out by calling a friend that the Zoo was closed when I got there. He agreed to email as many as possible. I did not have time to get back home and send an email, but everyone probably knows by now. I hope you got the word in advance and did not make the trip. The Zoo said they would be open when I called to check. We will reschedule. I'll let you know date/time. Thanks to all.
