In This Issue THLN Announces Expansion Plans THLN Announces Expansion Plans The Texas Humane Legislation Network would like to announce some very exciting expansion plans: T.H.L.N is coming to YOU!!!Our network is a mainstream, grassroots organization that has a mission to promote the humane treatment of animals through legislation, education, and advocacy. We have built a bold presence at the Capital in Austin since our conception in 1975. The animal laws now in existence are proof of that. What now? How do we grow? How do we gain momentum in order to help animals who have no voice? How do we make THLN's name and brand as common as the humane society or SPCA? How can we raise funds for much needed lobbyist support and to help us become more self-sufficient as a complete state wide network? After many planning sessions and meetings THLN will now have (9) Chapters throughout the state of Texas. These Chapters will consist of the following (to start with): Panhandle Plains - cities of focus: Amarillo, Lubbock North Texas - cities of focus: DFW, Wichita Falls, Abilene West Texas - cities of focus: Midland, Odessa, San Angelo West Texas #2 - city of focus: El Paso Central Texas - cities of focus: Waco, Temple, Austin East Texas - cities of focus: Tyler, Longview, Marshall South Central Texas - cities of focus: San Antonio, San Marcos South East Texas - cities of focus: Houston, Beaumont South Texas - city of focus: Corpus ChristiTHLN will be developing Chapter Leadership Committees in each area who will help our network focus on (4) areas: Localized Marketing & Promotion Fundraising Personal Relationships w/ members, donors, partners, and elected officials Legislative input THLN NEEDS YOU!!!We are currently recruiting people in these areas who would like to make a volunteer commitment to serve on your areas Chapter Leadership Committee. THLN will train you and our Executive Committee will insure you have the leadership, guidance, and support to make a difference in the lives of animals not only on the state level, but in your own community. Please don't assume this commitment will be too time consuming. We realize our volunteers have busy lives and we have built a plan that will keep things simple, but highly efficient.Have we "peeked" your interest? Be a part of history as we work TOGETHER to soar THLN and our mission to the next level of success!
