CALLING ALL JENNY SUPPORTERS

URGENT! ATTEND DALLAS CITY COUNCIL

WEDNESDAY, 10/22/08

9 AM TO 10:30 AM

 

Lily Tomlin helped us make significant inroads with Dallas City Council last week. Your attendence is urgently needed to maintain the momentum. We must not let this chance die.

 

Please show the Council that we continue to strongly support Jenny's retirement to The Elephant Sanctuary.

 

Your presence at City Council meetings is essential to helping Jenny! The fire and determination in Jenny supporter's eyes shows City Council the depth of our resolution to retire Jenny to TES.

REMEMBER: Jenny is suffering NOW.

 

Jenny is languishing her pitiful life away in a tiny enclosure at the Zoo. She is miserable, which is evident from her swaying.

 

A larger habitat that won't be built for at least 18 months to 2 years (or more) does not make Jenny's life any better today. The natural lifespan of an elephant is 70 years of age, but elephants in AZA Zoos live only an average of 34 years. Jenny is 32. Help retire Jenny to TES where she has her best chance of a long, happy life in one of the best elephant habitats in the world.

 

There are elephants in desperate circumstances and in chains in roadside zoos, traveling circuses, and in the hands of inadequate private owners. CCFJ proposes that the City of Dallas offer the proposed four acre habitat to two or three of these poor elephants in dire straights and let Jenny go to the Sanctuary today! This is a reasonable and compassionate option in which everyone wins.
