Guest guest
Cross Posted with permission. This is a wonderful, heartwarming video. Please watch it. Margaret--- On Fri, 12/5/08, Barbara Staves wrote: Some of you may remember "Shelter Walkers" the documentary about the unsung heroes of the rescue community and their courageous role in animal rescue, written, directed and produced by my friend and roommate, Sharie Vance. This is the one-year anniversary of it's release and is now on YouTube as well as on MySpaceTV. She told me last night that it has been viewed nearly 14,000 times. She's also sent out requested copies of the DVD to dozens of rescue groups in cities all over the map to be used for educational purposes. I'm hoping we can double or triple that number in the next few months! Please watch it again if you haven't already, and lets forward this message far and wide to educate people everywhere to what good can be accomplished by a dedicated few! It would be wonderful to have teachers in our communities show this to their students, so any of you that are or know school teachers, please share it with them and ask them to use it in their classrooms. It's not an emotional, tear-jerker or shock value video, rather it's a rationally presented, educational documentary. It features interviews from some of Dallas' finest shelter walkers - Russell Posch of the Irving shelter, Debbie Barclay with the Grand Prairie shelter and Maggie Dahl at the Dallas shelter. These wonderful people work tirelessly and often thanklessly, taking photos, writing bios, then posting these surrendered or abandoned pets to rescue groups and internet sites, ultimately saving hundreds of animals each year from euthanasia. Thanks to you all for supporting us in getting this message out to the general public. "Shelter Walkers" MySpace TV site - http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual & videoid=23821580 OR "Shelter Walkers" YouTube site - Copies of the DVD can be obtained by writing to Sharie at redoakgal And she LOVES to hear your feedback! Please leave comments for her after watching the video at either site, or send her an email. Thanks everyone, and Happy Holidays!
