Guest guest
Please politely share your vision of how animals deserve to be treated (in any setting) with our president-elect. While he is establishing his new administrative team, clearly communicate with Mr. Obama on the people, policies, and practices you believe the U.S. government should adopt in relation to animals by going to:http://change.gov/page/s/yourvisionI hope you will also mention how intrinsically wrong it is to allow elephants to be unnaturally confined in zoos, especially since the December, 2008 issue of the journal Science published a research study proving confinement in zoos significantly shorten elephant's life spans. Personally, I believe that the US should ban import of elephants and establish national standards for the treatment of those elephant currently in our country that mirrors the conditions and care of the two U.S. elephant sanctuaries (PAWS and TES). The sanctuary standard should apply to all elephants now in the U.S., including those kept in circuses, zoos, and private hands. Some things are obvious to those who are not blinded by the profit. Let us hope that Mr. Obama is among those who can see. It is up to us to ensure he is enlightened by hearing the civil voice of the animal advocacy community.Cross Post Widely, Please.Margaret MorinFounder,Vegetarian Network of DallasConcerned Citizens for Jenny
