Thanks also to each person who contacts KERA to thank them for their coverage. See story and link to radio report below.

If anyone has a minute to find the links for the other coverage CCFJ got for Jenny yesterday, please email to me.

There was a longer KERA segment in which the HSUS letter was mentioned as well as Ms. Arthurs, and a clip of me saying how little sense it made in these tough economic times to spend millions on an elephant exhibit that would not meet Jenny's needs, but it was not posted on the KERA website at this time)

Battle over Jenny Escalates on New Year's Day BJ Austin, KERA News

The fight to move Jenny, the elephant, to a Tennessee sanctuary is heating up in the New Year. KERA's BJ Austin says the U.S. Humane Society, actress Bea Arthur, and hundreds of Dallas children are calling for Jenny to move.Margaret Morin is found of Concerned Citizens for Jenny rallied her troops outside the Zoo. Morin came to present two giant "cards" signed by hundreds of Dallas children.Morin: Children were lined up at the Adolphus Children's parade, ignoring the floats, lined up to sign Jenny's cards. This is just a small portion of the signatures. We have hundreds of signatures, drawings, sentiments.Morin also says it doesn't make sense in these tough economic times for the city to spend millions on a new elephant habitat that will not meet Jenny's needs and be too small for additional elephants as well. Zoo officials are fast-tracking construction of the new 4 acre

habitat, and have plans to bring-in a companion elephant for Jenny soon.
