Guest guest
I have received quite a few emails from VegNOD members as they want others to see the letters they have written to the City of Garland. Here is one example (below), but there have been several others, too. Although all have been excellent, I decided to post one to keep this top of mind. I hope everyone keeps up the good work. Thanks very much. Margaret ****************************************************** My understanding is that your animal shelter does the unthinkable and gasses animals that have not yet found homes. This is totally inhumane and not what I would expect a Texas shelter to do in this 21st century. Might I suggest to you and others in charge in the city of Garland to actually be on-site when this gassing takes place. I have been on-site to see, hear and be horrified at the sounds of the animals inside the chamber crying, scratching and trying desperately to get out of the chamber. This has the effect that will make any caring person do everything in his/her power to stop this horrific end of these innocence lives. These animals just need homes, caring people to take charge and work harder at finding homes, and if necessary the killing of the animals can be done in a more humane way. Gas Chambers bring to mind the horrific Nazi days of Germany--please as a native Texan, this is not what I want my state to be related to. Help from such organizations as the HSUS, ASPCA and other non-profit animal groups can direct your community on the right thing to do. Thank you for your reply in this very important matter.
