Guest guest
Please urge your representative to support increased vegetarian and vegan options in schools across America! Most kids standing in line in public school cafeterias have to pick from fat-laden hamburgers, high-calorie chicken fingers, and greasy, cheesy pizza. Childhood obesity has become an epidemic in America, and the best way that schools can help their students achieve and maintain a healthy weight is to drop the chicken nuggets and fish sticks in lieu of delicious vegetarian and vegan meals. As many as a third of American children are lactose intolerant and/or have allergies to cow's milk and deserve equally priced nondairy, calcium-rich beverage options at every meal. By adding more fruits and vegetables and nondairy beverages, schools will reduce calories and saturated fat in cafeteria meals. Please help provide schools across America with healthy vegetarian and vegan foods and beverages in school cafeterias by reaching out to your representative.
