Guest guest
Hi my name is Bob (Yoga-Bob on the Forum), On 2/22/02 Found SARP in a Barnes and Noble Bookstore when living in San Antonio. I was at the " end of my rope " feeling like there was no way out. Was not in shape and very hooked on sugar, to say the least. At work, I had to be in " Total Control " of all situations and matters. Was stuck in a series of un-natural patterns… When I took the " Sugar Sensitivity Test " scored very high and finally " felt clarity " . Vowed to follow the 7 steps, in order, taking my time and do it for the rest of my life. I was eating lots of red meat, mostly in the form of BBQ with tons of extra " BBQ Sauce " . Whenever I had steak it always had to " Burnt " with half a large bottle of " A-1 Sauce " . My DW would make brownies, they would somehow vanish during the middle of the night, and she named them " Disappearing Brownies " . While watching football games and eat almost the entire box of Oreo's, would leave 3 cookies in case my DW wanted some. Found myself going back to the supermarket and buying another box of Oreo's, to " cover up the habit " . Was also drinking 5 to 6 cans of Diet Coke/day. Had no idea why I was doing what I was doing, had 0 control over it, ever feel that way? No longer do BBQ, Stubb's BBQ Sauce, Steak, A-1 Sauce, Brownies, Disappearing Brownies " , Oreo's, Diet Coke or anything like that anymore. The only regular branded product, which I eat, is Quaker Oats Oatmeal, just something good about the Quaker Guy's Picture on the Box. In the past food was controlling my life. There is a direct relationship to how you feel and what you eat. This program showed me the freedom to develop positive habits, lasting a lifetime. There's a direct relationship to how you feel and what you eat, imagine that… This program showed me the way to eat the right foods and to have the freedom Food now is " only food " a way to feed the body with what it needs on a regular basis, in the right amounts, and at the right time. So part of my journey is finding Lentils, Wonderful Brown & Black Rice, Bean Combinations, Tofu, fresh Soy Beans, Quinoa, Spelt and still do dairy and egg's every now and then. I also found a new love " Indian Food " . The food is great. I'm working on adding more fresh veggies to my program. The journey continues… The program and community is a wonderful and awesome gift to humanity. This program enables one to truly find freedom, see clearly, and enjoy life... Guest guest
Hi Bob, welcome to the group! I love how in this community our stories are so similar. Disapearing whites was a common thing in my house too LOL. And Indian food, now you're speaking my language! There is an amazing wealth of Indian recipes out there for vegegarians.
