Guest guest
Hey Augustina That's great news, I am really glad you are finding things that work for you. Yes, almonds are really expensive here in Croatia too, so are cashews and almost all nuts, but hey think of all the money you will save in the long run by giving up sugar and sweets! <smile> I used to eat at least one chocolate bar a day + 1/2 a box of digestive biscuits and just those two things cost more than 100 grams of almonds or cashews. Believe me, now I am actually spending less money on food than before, despite the fact I am buying expensive protein powders, vitamins and nuts. Have you tried making rice milk? It is not as tasty as almond or cashew milk, but it is much cheaper and really easy to make and the taste doesn't really matter that much once you mix it with pp, fruit and carbs in a shake. Which step are you on? Warmly, Mika >Hi everybody. >Thanks Mika and all for your great suggestions. >I tried making almond milk following a recipe I found in some vegan >site. Guest guest
Mmmmm, almond-sesame milk sounds divine! Would you mind sharing how you did this? Glad you found a protein powder, let us know how you like it. And yah, a lot of people have troubles getting enough protein at first, especially the big ones (I don't know if this is your or not!). That's one of the reasons shake is such a great breakfast option. Heather on behalf of Agustina Colombo Eiff Sat 3/25/2006 9:20 PM Great ideas at work! Hi everybody. Thanks Mika and all for your great suggestions. I tried making almond milk following a recipe I found in some vegan site. It was much easier than I had feared! I replaced half the almonds with sesame seeds because almonds are so ridiculously expensive here (just to give you an idea, they cost 7 to 8 times more than a kilo of average beef). We all loved it. I made some research into the protein powders and I found just one brand that sells pure whey protein, no weird stuff added. I will have it delivered by monday, I hope. I'm really looking forward to trying it since I'm afraid I'm not getting enough protein. I cannot eat so much! Has that happened to anybody else? I hope you are all having a great weekend. Guest guest
Hi Augustina, I know I asked how you made the milk, but I think I should've been more specific LOL. One of our " rules of the road " here is that we don't post links to recipes without Kathleen's permission. The reason for this is one of safety and liability. I guess what I should've said was " can you tell me how you made the milk step by step " or something. Anyways, the no links thing is true on all the Radiant Recovery lists, it's one of the ways we keep our community safe! Guest guest
