Guest guest
Try www.dixiediner.com. They sell 10 pound bags of Beef-Not, very similar to TVP. > Hi , > > Does anyone know where I can buy textured vegetable protein in large > quantities? > > Thanks, > > Steve > > > > **************************************************************************** *** > To post to list via e-mail: send e-mail to " Veg-Recipes " > To post to list via website: Veg-Recipes/post > To contact List Owner: " Veg-Recipes-owner " > Subscribe or Un through site: / > OR Un via e-mail: Veg-Recipes- > Calendar: Veg-Recipes/calendar > Bookmarks: Veg-Recipes/links > Read or search old messages: Veg-Recipes/messages > **************************************************************************** *** > >
Guest guest
Hello, I was wondering if anybody in this group uses TVP as a protein source? It is very high in protein (low in fat which is an added bonus) therefore it should be a good thing to use. Thanks in advance for any comments. Guest guest
Hi Christine, TVP is usually made from soy. Since I use soy protein powder in my breakfast shake, I don't use any other forms of soy throughout the day. Also, I haven't been very impressed with the taste of TVP products in the past. Maybe they have improved. Connie
Guest guest
Christine, although it's true that TVP is high in protein, it's a soy product, and it's not recommended to use too much soy. It's fine once in a while if you like it, but you don't want to use it too often, and you especially don't want to give it to kids often. Plus, I think it tastes nasty, LOL.
